The recent highjacking of a Libyan plane to Malta brought the Maltese Cross into view, keeping it current/alive via commerce, also shown on two Euro coins, and fitting at this thoughtful time of Christmas. photos.plane-mad.com/16/large/16496.jpgWikipedia "The association with Malta arose after the Knights Hospitallers moved from Rhodes to Malta in 1530. The first evidence for use of the Maltese Cross on Malta appears on the 2 Tari and the 4 Tari Copper coins of the Grand Master Jean Parisot de Valette (Grand Master 1557-1568). The 2 and 4 Tari Copper coins are dated 1567. This provides a date for the introduction of the Maltese Cross. "The Maltese cross was depicted on the two mils coin in the old Maltese currency and is now shown on the back of two Euro coins, introduced in January 2008." Symbolism "In the 15th century, the eight points of the four arms of the later called Maltese Cross represented the eight lands of origin, or Langues of the Knights Hospitaller: Auvergne, Provence, France, Aragon, Castille and Portugal, Italy, Germany, and England (with Scotland and Ireland). "The eight points also symbolize the eight obligations or aspirations of the knights. • to live in truth • to have faith • to repent one's sins • to give proof of humility • to love justice • to be merciful • to be sincere and wholehearted • to endure persecution en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maltese_crossThe Cross is also that of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem, the eight points of the four arms representing the eight Beatitudes. At Saint John's Place at Clerkenwell, London, at the inner precinct is a well kept little garden where the herb 'Saint John's Worth' grows, exhibiting many health benefits. s0.geograph.org.uk/geophotos/04/51/84/4518406_b29bf39b.jpg

Precious boon to mortals given, God, whose guiding hand is o'er us, Sets a thousand roads before us, Leading each and all to Heaven! Whoso, in this world of vision, Would as pilgrim safe be guided, Hath to choose the path provided Best befitting his condition. So, with honest soul and good, And the light of Heaven upon it, May the Cleric don his bonnet, And the friar wear his hood. 'Neath his cloak of double plies May the sturdy ploughman burrow, And it may be thro' his furrow Strike a straight road to the skies. And the Soldier-Knight mayhap, If his aims be good and pure, With his golden garniture, And with feather in his cap, Will, if he so keep the road, On his steed, with spur of gold, Gallant of celestial mould, Reach at last the home of God. Now with tears, and now with song, Suffering some, and fighting others, To the land where all are brothers One by one they march along! Journey to Parnassus Translated by James Y. The ancient and old good news communicated in Star Wars as 'science fiction', beloved by millions striving to become a Jedi utilizing the Force. Why else? Wikipedia "The Jedi - are the main protagonists in the fictional Star Wars universe. They are depicted as an ancient monastic and academic meritocratic organization whose origin dates back to circa 25,000 BBY Before Battle of Yavin; the distruction of the First Death Star.) "The Jedi Order mostly consists of polymaths: teachers, philosophers, scientists, engineers, physicians, diplomats and warriers, who value knowledge and wisdom above nationality. By serving others, the Jedi give of themselves through acts of charity, citizenship, and volunteerism. A Jedi's ideology and strict way of life as a worthwhile challenge to live up to is a recurring theme in the Star Wars universe. Their traditional weapon is the lightsaber, a device which generates a blade-like plasma controlled by a crytal. The fictional organization has inspired a real-world new religious movement, Jedism." Unless seen as science fiction, the many such knightly Orders are remembered. Overview "As depicted in the canon, the Jedi study and utilize the Force, in order to help and protect those in need. The Jedi members, known as the "Jedi Knights", respect all life by defending and protecting those who cannot do it for themselves, striving for peaceful and non-combative solutions to any alterations they encounter and fighting only in self-defence and for the defence of those they protect. Like their counterparts, the Sith, their main weapon is the lightsaber. By training the mind and the body, the Jedi seek to improve themselves by gaining unfettered access to the Force while also seeking to improve those individuals and groups they come in contact with." One can't miss the similarity of Egyptian names of Thoth/Tahuti and Seth. In the swamp world of Dagobah, "There, in the oppressive heat of the swamp, young Luke underwent the first of many grueling tests that would mold him into a Jedi Knight", our world. Dagobah is also decribed as "one of the purest place in the Galaxy", teaming with life, also on our planet. I imagine the later so www.wallpapermade.com/images/wallpapers/originals/maleficent-enchanted-forest-wallpaper-1286.jpgDagobah, "Home of Yoda during his final years, Dagobah was a swamp covered planet strong with the Force - - a forgotten world where the wizened Jedi Master could escape the notice of imperial forces. ... Yoda could connect with the deeper cosmic Force and waited for one who might bring about the return of the Jedi Order." A meaningful rendition of what we and It is all about, methinks.

This song, said John, is for people who moan about the weather all the time, but here in California it's raining and pouring intermittently for a few weeks and we're glad because our deserts will rejoice and blossom like a rose and flowers will bloom in the wasteland.
My 3 favorite rain songs
Steady the rain falls to the melodious song, beautiful scenery and medieval backdrop

Wow! 2 like's, unheard of Thanks Gentlemen, I think it's good to celebrate Valentine's Day, love and friendship, a drink and pleasant conversation, and chocolate, to forget about the humdrum of daily life for a while. Good to know you're ok, Daz, I was wondering. This song actually plays quiet a bit these days around here, so Prost!

So typical isn't it. Daz left no doubt that he likes a drink and you mentioned rum at times. Last time I was at a bar was New Years Eve probably 20 years ago, it was so loud and boring I had to leave, but it's a good place to go for friends to mingle and be happy for a while, I suppose.
It's springtime in California, all is green and clean, trees are blooming, birds are singing, been listening to music all morning, found this one I never heard before

Hi Charlotte "So typical isn't it. Daz left no doubt that he likes a drink and you mentioned rum at times" If we met in a bar I'd put on my best 007 accent and suggest you may enjoy a vodka martini shaken and not stirred, withinin minutes, we would be on the dance floor.

Good to know you're well, Daz, looks like the bunny energized you to write a few words. Unlike most irritating/insulting commercials addressing us as if we were brainless, it is straight forward and up-beat. I think it's Don who notes rum, on vodka martini I know about as much as on a car engine, half a glass of gin and tonic is my limit. Be well and take care

Returned from the royal wedding Regardless of one's sentiment of British Royalty, it was nice to see smiles and interesting hats, and the loving gestures of Harry and Meghan justifying romance, part of our nature which has its time and rites and which "does not bedim our Spirit's sight". Considering the greater scheme of things and the current state of affairs in human history, the time has fallen true for England and America to strenghten the bond forged by England's Visionary and our Founders, underground, almost forgotten and drowned out by voices of ignorance and or deceit, is as strong as ever regardless of the chaos we find ourselves in for our true purpose "is an ever fixed mark". I didn't know Windsor Castle was that big.

Watched a documentary on Mr. Ted Turner, quiet interesting, apparently he retired in Montana, where he walks about wide open spaces. What I loved Mr. Turner howling to get attention from the wolf's and in unisome they responded with plentive sounds sort of rolling across the prairie filling all space, very moving.
