Hi ghia (et al) ... I am slowly starting to transfer my websites of Poussin over to Bravenet, a public server ... It is going to take forever so maybe I wil have to find a better way ... here is page 1 to show what it will look like but the links to the large images are not done yet. Keep dropping back to see how I am progressing. The Paintings of PoussinCheers Don Barone

Hi Don. Great.
I like the picture of Moses and the worship of Baal, and all the rest for that matter, will be good to see it all up.
Paul.

Go Don I love the paintings on the left and accompanying text. The Four Season Spring is luxuriant Summer a fecunt harvest Autumn the gathering of mellow grapes, Winter the terrible deluge in which all mankind is overwhelmed and destroyed. The four seasons of the devolution of mankind from the golden age to led. The world can be thankful to have all Poussin's painting in one place, and how great that they are being "decoded" slowly but surely. Thank you Charlotte

It works, Don, but it's taking a while to download, so I have to look at it after work.
The "Burlington Stone" didn't work.

Hi Charlotte Still a few bugs to iron out. Burlignton Stone should have worked as it is a direct link to YouTube. Sometimes you have to click twice. Will check it out. ... Just did and it works fine for me. Best Don Barone

Mr. Barone-- A few days ago, in transferring an article from my old ArtyFacts web pages to my current blog, Art-Now-and-Then.blogspot.com I went in search of an image to accompany an article I'd written about ten years ago on Nicholas Poussin and his painting, Landscape with Bacchus and Ceres, (re-posted 12-16-11). After some difficulty I was pleased to find it on your site: donbarone.selfip.net/Poussin%20Thumbs%202.htm (page 2). I was not so pleased to find my entire, three-paragraph article reprinted word for word opposite the image, used without attribution or my permission. I'm guessing the article may have been copied from authorized reprints of the original ArtyFacts on www.HumanitiesWeb.com. In any case, though I was flattered that you deemed my article worthy to plagerize, I am dismayed that you didn't ask permission to use it or give me credit for writing it. In the interest of spreading art history, I'm not going to ask you to take down the article, however, I must insist that you give me credit in writing the "blurb" and install a link following it to my blog as indicated above. Thank you--Jim Lane

Dear Jim I am very sorry and never once even hinted that I had written it as you can see it was in quotations. I put the site together over many years as Poussin's paintings did not have a fair display on the internet. I think I have the most complete collection on the web and am very sorry and have posted your response in it's entirity and all links have been included and oh yeah welcome to As Above ... So Below I guess I better not tell you where I got the image from then Suffice it to say it was scanned out of an artbook and I am not sure you would be comfortable using it under those circumstances. So sad when works of art are so jealously copyrighted and guarded. I gain no monetary rewards but simply posted these images for all art lovers to enjoy. Cheers Don Barone

Hi francoise Here is the link in English: www.lesecretdepoussin.com/en/index.phpI am a bit confused I read through the English version but I am unsure what the secret that has been hidden is. You really never tell us and secondly we still do not know for sure whether these paintings are by Poussin or Dughtet. nevertheless they are great paintings and are surely worth a fortune regardless which one they were painted by.
