Hi all in case you haven't read the scrolling chat at the bottom of each page I have decided to throw in the towel Hans over at Ma'at hit the nail on the head when he said "no one cares that you, a modern person, has discovered x and y and you know what he is absolutely right. Nobody really gives a flat flying ..... I am sick of the garbage and condescending comments and the bravado of those that think they are so superior becasue they have read the textbooks. It really makes me sick. I am just not prepared to deal with it anymore so I am out of here. I am going to delete all references to this. I have already turned off all my websites and this will soon follow. As I said this forum was really just me talking to myself for no one (Charlotte of course excepted) really ever gave me any encouragement or help.
The next major step will be to delete all my ImageShack photos which will effectively kill most of my posts everywhere.
As a final word I simply cry ... Uncle, I give.

Hi Don, Several times I wanted to post "who am I talking to but to myself", then thought no matter, it's nice to be searching and learning stuff to enrich my mind. The upside is that one doesn't have to deal with anyone. Seems few people care about your interests, or about mine which never bothered me too much, everyone has their likes and dislikes. It would be a shame to delete all your work, like throwing away a book which contains one sentence somebody needed to give an answer. If you take down this board all my historical and other information will be lost as well, whether accurate or not. All around, there is so much good information on this board to resonate with anyone, or dismiss, so I hope you change your mind and don't care what other people think of your work, same as me, I just post what I like and how my understanding, the rest is up to the individual reader. Cheers and love, Don Charlotte

Cheers and love, Don Charlotte As always you are of course correct Charlotte and no I could never take this site down. It would be like cutting off both my arms and legs. I am still posting over at the other site but with a realization that very few will ever really get it. Nick L was one of the very few and I wonder sometimes whether even Clive would get it. Even DUNE who has done some interesting work at Giza and posts over at Graham's really doesn't understand what is there. And as you said at least here I don't have to put up with the insane posters and well to put it bluntly a..holes on the other board. Cheers and thanks as always

Hi all ... well I have signed off of that third attempt as it degenerated into finding the solar system in a guys living room I felt that it was time to get out. Will I try again ? Probably not because the math skills are so lacking in some people it really seems pointless. So home I am. And god do I love that video Charlotte. Cheers Don

Okay so now another controversy is raging. Can you see from The Giza Plateau to The Step Pyramid ? Charlotte seems to remember she could while the know it alls at that third site scoffed at the very notion. They also scoffed at being able to see other pyramids from atop The Great Pyramid which I put them in their grave with this posting which I placed at Ma'at: Re: How far is the horizon in Egypt Posted by: Don Barone (IP Logged) Date: June 26, 2018 08:32AM
They were rather adamant that you can not yet Charlotte who has posted on this and other forums and has been to Egypt numerous times is adamant that she could see The Step Pyramid "from high up on The Giza Plateau" ... so she claims these know it alls are in error. Regardless of this it would appear that the pyramids in this picture I posted
are at least showing us either: 1} The Step Pyramid 2} The Red Pyramid 3) The Bent Pyramid
or
1) The Step Pyramid 2) The Great Pyramid 3) The Pyramid of Khafre
or ? which is why I asked.
According to an horizon website these are the results from viewing from atop the Great Pyramid and The Step Pyramid.
and The Step Pyramid
Since the distance you can see from atop The Great Pyramid is 26.9 miles seeing The Step Pyramid is without question since it is only 8.91 miles away. Likewise seeing The Bent and The Red Pyramid from atop The Great Pyramid is definite since The Bent is only about 14.52 miles away. Thus from atop The Great Pyramid all other pyramids can be seen maybe even Meidum which is about 33.4 miles away.
So as you can see those think they know it alls were wrong (as usual) and all pyramids can be seen from atop The Great Pyramid. Since they were totally wrong on this point I assumed they were wrong on the other about The Step Pyramid being able to be seen from the ground which is why I asked. And quoting that site. although you may think it is clever, is in my opinion in bad taste.
regards db Also that is along a straight line and the measured distance would be on the arc of the Earth and so the actual sighting distance would shrink the distance between them as measured so that 33.4 between Giza and Meidum would be less than this on the line of sight. Cheers Don Barone

Oops a small error ... the 33.4 is from The Step to Meidum. Distance from Giza to Meidum is 40.7 miles

Area of sight from atop The Pyramids of The 3rd and 4th Dynasty. It seems that almost the entire Nile valley from Giza to Meidum could be seen from one of the pyramids and many areas would have been able to be seen by multiple pyramids. Courtesy of Google Earth and the circle drawing capabilities it has ... Full size image below:

Hi Don, the picture of the great desert area is exactly what it looks like from some point in the desert. I even said something like. 'look you can see the Pyramids' to my companion, and remember distincly seeing the Saqqara Pyramids from high upon the Giza Plateau.
Cheers Charlotte
