I have formulated an idea and it is not quite complete yet but I am working on it. We have to find a source that could know all about the planets and their motion and there is only one place where we can turn to start our search ... Ancient Mesopotamia and that is what I have been doing. On checking the time frames between the two cultures, Egypt and Mesopotamia we find that their development is almost parallel. I find it odd that this is never emphasized anywhere you care to look. I will make a table to show the amazing similarities to dates and accomplishments. Okay now this. The first Ziggaruat was built in Mesopotamia in around 2900 BCE and so according to today's chronology PREDATED THE PYRAMIDS OF EGYPT. But there is one timeline comparison that I have saved for last and as far as I know it has not been pointed out before and it is simply this ... Gilgamesh the hero of Sumerian Legend was contemporary with ... Imhotep ... here is what the records show ... Gilgamesh: ... " ... If Gilgamesh existed, he probably was a king who reigned sometime between 2800 and 2500 BC.[6][not verified in body] The Sumerian King List claims that Gilgamesh ruled the city of Uruk for 126 years. According to the Tummal Inscription,[n 2] Gilgamesh and his son Ur-Nungal rebuilt the sanctuary of the goddess Ninlil in Tummal, a sacred quarter in her city of Nippur.Since Aga of Kish is attested to as a real ruler of Sumeria some scholars feel that Gilgamesh could be a real person as well. Imhotep: ... "the one who comes in peace"; fl. late 27th century BC " So it is my contention that Imhotep and Gilgamesh were indeed one and the same ... Now what do you think of that ? Hi all ... again couldn't sleep so here I am ... I was vaguely aware or a person in Sumerian semi myth that lived on the fringe of the transition of power from The Gods of Ancient Sumer to the mortals on the ground. So I decided to do a comparison of the timelines of Ancient Sumer and Ancient Egypt to see if there was anything connecting the two but for now let's study Imhotep, who's name means ... "He who comes in peace" There is very little known about him and virtually no contemporary reports and only two very small statuettes of him ... Here is what Wiki has to say about him ... Imhotep (/ɪmˈhoʊtɛp/;[1] Egyptian: ỉỉ-m-ḥtp *jā-im-ḥātap, in Unicode hieroglyphs: 𓇍𓅓𓊵:𓏏*𓊪, "the one who comes in peace"; fl. late 27th century BC) was an Egyptian chancellor to the pharaoh Djoser, probable architect of the step pyramid, and high priest of the sun god Ra at Heliopolis. Very little is known of Imhotep as a historical figure, but in the 3000 years following his death, he was gradually glorified and deified. ...
Imhotep's historicity is confirmed by two contemporary inscriptions made during his lifetime on the base or pedestal of one of Djoser's statues (Cairo JE 49889) and also by a graffito on the enclosure wall surrounding Sekhemkhet's unfinished step-pyramid.[16][17] The latter inscription suggests that Imhotep outlived Djoser by a few years and went on to serve in the construction of King Sekhemkhet's pyramid, which was abandoned due to this ruler's brief reign[16]
[16]Jaromir Malek. "The Old Kingdom" in The Oxford History of Ancient Egypt by Ian Shaw (ed.) Oxford University Press paperback 2002. p. 92–93
Imhotep was one of the chief officials of the Pharaoh Djoser. Egyptologists ascribe to him the design of the Pyramid of Djoser, a step pyramid at Saqqara in Egypt in 2630–2611 BC.[18] He may also have been responsible for the first known use of stone columns to support a building.[19] Despite these later attestations, the pharaonic Egyptians themselves never credited Imhotep as the designer of the stepped pyramid nor with the invention of stone architecture.[20]
Imhotep’s high standing in Djoser’s court is affirmed by an inscription bearing his name on a statue of Djoser found at the site of the Ṣaqqārah pyramid. The inscription lists a variety of titles, including chief of the sculptors and chief of the seers. Although no contemporary account has been found that refers to Imhotep as a practicing physician, ancient documents illustrating Egyptian society and medicine during the Old Kingdom (c. 2575– c. 2130 bce) show that the chief magician of the pharaoh’s court also frequently served as the nation’s chief physician. Imhotep’s reputation as the reigning genius of the time, his position in the court, his training as a scribe, and his becoming known as a medical demigod only 100 years after his death are strong indications that he must have been a physician of considerable ski
So all in all not a heck of a lot to prove who he was or if he really lived ... Imhotep reading a papyrus roll, detail of a sculpture; in the Egyptian Museum, Berlin. So now the timeline and I think you will find it interesting I did. I had been floating an idea I have held for many years deeply hidden inside of me that Imhotep had to have come from somewhere else for then why call him "He who comes in peace." Now I will admit to harboring thoughts of possibly an alien very much like in Chris de Burgh's song of " A Spaceman came Traveling " but figured perhaps I should look for a more likely source of who he was. For many years I had had a gut feeling the the histories of Sumer and Egypt had to be linked much more closely than has ever been told to us. So i went digging recently and found that the first Ziggaruat was built in about 2900 BCE and much earlier than the pyramids of Egypt and then noted that both forms of writing were said to have originated IN BOTH PLACES AT THE SAME TIME ... 3100 BCE so my feelings of a possible connection were making sense. So it became my belief that the ideas of The Pyramids seemed to maybe have originated in Sumer and had come to Egypt from there ... but who could have brought them ? perhaps someone who came in peace ... perhaps.... IMHOTEP ! It became my beleif that Imhotep either came from "The Stars" or came from Sumer. I needed to find out if there was anything in Sumerian history that could suggest that someone maybe could have done this and matched the timeline in question. Now I will admit to thinking before I did the search that it had to have been ... GILGAMESH
and so I decided to take a look at the timelines ... and what a pleasant surprise I got ... Here are the timelines of Sumer and Egypt: Click for large full size version And I was delighted to find that the timeline of Imhotep and Gilgamesh MATCH EXACTLY ! So was Gilgamesh really Imhotep ? Let's study The Epic of Gilgamesh to see if there is anything in there that might substantiate my conclusions ... But finding Imhotep would be a great step toward understanding why the pyramids might have been built ... Emhotep Don Barone
