Hi Don,
Concerning the "Chai" symbol, as you know, it consists of the Hebrew letter "Yod" and "Chet".
"In the Hebrew language, the word chai spelled by these two letters means "living".
In the Alhambra Cathedral I attend, in the greater Dome is painted the "Pantocrator - He who rules everything", above His head the Yod symbol, "living".
The Pantocrator is painted on every central Dome, or ceiling of Orthodox Churches. I recently read about a coin but have to check back if it's Roman. If I find it's germane I'll let you know.
